Job Description

Pho Mr.Q Vietnamese Restaurant is a well-established Vietnamese restaurant located in Calgary, Alberta. We are dedicated to serving authentic Vietnamese cuisine made with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. Our menu features a wide selection of pho, vermicelli bowls, rice dishes, bánh mì, spring rolls, and other Vietnamese specialties. We are looking for an experienced Cook who is passionate about preparing high-quality food and delivering an exceptional dining experience to our customers.

Responsibilities

Prepare, season, and cook a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes, including pho, vermicelli bowls (bún), rice dishes, stir-fries, appetizers, and bánh mì
Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, herbs, broths, sauces, and other ingredients according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
Prepare and maintain traditional Vietnamese pho broth and sauces while ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation.
Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with food quality and portion standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and food storage areas.
Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies and minimizing food waste
Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance issues.
Work efficiently with other kitchen staff to prepare customer orders in a timely manner.
Follow all Alberta Health Services food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience
Experience preparing Vietnamese cuisine is a strong asset.
Cooking Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent culinary training is an asset.
High school diploma or equivalent
Good English Communication Skills (CLB 5)
Good French Communication Skills (NCLC 5)
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Work Conditions

Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required
Fast-paced restaurant environment.
Standing for extended periods.
Repetitive tasks requiring attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting service deadlines.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg when handling food products and kitchen supplies.
