Responsibilities

Customer Service: Greet guests with a warm attitude, take orders accurately via the POS system, process payments, and answer menu questions.
Treat & Beverage Preparation: Craft iconic DQ® Blizzards®, soft-serve cones, sundaes, shakes, and custom ice cream cakes following exact brand guidelines and portion controls.
Order Delivery & Dining Room Maintenance: Assemble food orders quickly, ensure accurate order fulfillment, and maintain a spotless dining area and condiment station
Hot Food Preparation: Grill fresh-to-order burgers, fry chicken strips, prepare sides, and assemble sandwiches according to DQ Grill & Chill standard recipes.
Quality & Portion Control: Ensure all hot items meet strict quality standards, correct cooking temperatures, and presentation criteria.
Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere strictly to Food Safety guidelines, monitor holding times, maintain proper hygiene, and keep kitchen equipment clean throughout the shift.
Stocking & Inventory: Assist in receiving inventory shipments, restocking work stations, and practicing FIFO (First In, First Out) stock rotation.
Opening & Closing Duties: Perform routine sanitation tasks, deep cleaning of kitchen/treat equipment, and closing checklist procedures.

Requirements

1 Year previous experience as a cook
Good English Communication Skills (CLB 5)
Good French Communication Skills (NCLC 5)
Highschool Graduation Required
The ability to work efficiently while meeting company standards
The ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
The physical stamina and strength needed to stand and work for eight hours each day

Work Conditions

Dynamic, Fast-Paced Environment: Ability to work efficiently and remain calm during high-volume peak hours, weekends, and peak tourist seasons in Canmore.
Physical Demands: Continuous standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting heavy items (up to 30–40 lbs) such as ice cream mix, raw inventory boxes, and liquid supplies.
Kitchen Environment: Working near commercial cooking equipment (grills, fryers) and cold storage units (walk-in freezers and coolers).
Flexible Scheduling: Availability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Teamwork & Communication: Strong verbal English communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
