Job Description

Bowls Korean BBQ is a popular Korean restaurant located in Calgary, Alberta, specializing in authentic Korean cuisine made with fresh ingredients and traditional flavors. Our menu features Korean BBQ, bibimbap, rice bowls, noodles, soups, and a variety of Korean side dishes. We are committed to delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service in a welcoming and fast-paced dining environment. We are seeking an experienced Cook to join our kitchen team.

Responsibilities

Prepare, season, and cook a variety of Korean dishes, including Korean BBQ, bibimbap, rice bowls, noodle dishes, soups, stews, and appetizers.
Prepare meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, marinades, sauces, and other ingredients according to restaurant recipes and quality standards.
Grill, stir-fry, boil, and prepare Korean menu items while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.
Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with food quality and portion standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and food storage areas.
Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies and minimizing food waste
Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any maintenance issues.
Work efficiently with other kitchen staff to prepare customer orders in a timely manner.
Follow all Alberta Health Services food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience
Experience preparing Korean cuisine is considered a strong asset.
Cooking Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent culinary training is an asset.
High school diploma or equivalent
Good English Communication Skills (CLB 5)

Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Work Conditions

Weekend, evening, and holiday shifts may be required

Repetitive tasks requiring attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while meeting service deadlines.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg when handling food products and kitchen supplies.
