Pioneer General Store (Associated Grocers) is a well-established community grocery store located in Caroline, Alberta. We proudly serve local residents and visitors with a wide selection of fresh groceries, bakery products, produce, hardware, and everyday essentials. Our team is committed to providing excellent customer service and high-quality products in a friendly, welcoming environment. The store is known for its broad product selection, including freshly baked goods prepared daily for the local community.

Responsibilities

Prepare and bake a variety of breads, rolls, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other bakery products.
Measure, mix, knead, shape, and proof dough according to established recipes.
Operate commercial bakery equipment safely and efficiently.
Decorate and finish baked goods as required.
Monitor product quality and ensure consistency in appearance, taste, and freshness.
Maintain proper inventory of baking ingredients and report supply needs.
Ensure all bakery products are properly displayed and rotated to maintain freshness.
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations.
Clean and maintain bakery equipment and work areas.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of professional baking experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Good English Communication Skills (CLB 5)
Good French Communication Skills (NCLC 5)
Ability to prepare a variety of breads, buns, pastries, cookies, cakes, and other baked goods
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Team-oriented, dependable, and organized

Work Conditions

Full-time, permanent position.
Early morning, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
Fast-paced work environment.
Standing for extended periods
Repetitive tasks and attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 20 kg when handling ingredients and supplies.
Team-oriented workplace with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
